Using small plankton nets, under-ice SCUBA divers, Melanie Parker and Kerri Scolardi, collect juvenile krill for live animal experiments onboard the N.B. Palmer. Because the water temperature is about -1.8ºC, divers use special gear that includes dry suits (Photo by Stian Alesandrini).
