The “Tucker Trawl” net is deployed off the stern of the N.B. Palmer by Kendra Daly and Jason Zimmerman.  The Tucker Trawl is a net designed to collect animals gently, without damaging them, so that they used in feeding and growth experiments in the ship's labs.  Ongoing experiments investigating diets and physiological condition are being conducted on ctenophores, larval and adult krill, and copepod species (Photo by Peter Wiebe).
